Working For Seniors

June is Seniors Month in Ontario! This year’s theme is “Working for Seniors.” Flamborough Connects is proud to offer free and low-cost programs and services for isolated or rural seniors in Flamborough. Learn something new in one of our Education Sessions or receive a call from one of our friendly volunteers in the Friendly Calling Program. For seniors who need assistance with transportation or shopping, we offer Flamborough Drives and Flamborough Shops. Our Wheel of Fitness program offers gentle fitness classes throughout Flamborough and virtually. Seniors can look forward to our Holiday Gift Program and Snow Angels Program as the weather gets colder. Our Income Tax Program was a huge success, helping many seniors get the refunds and government benefits they are entitled to. And our Information and Referral service answers questions about seniors’ services, geared to income housing, community resources and more! Flamborough Connects is excited to connect with seniors!

June is also the Great Canadian Giving Challenge! Help Flamborough Connects win $20 000! Each dollar donated to Flamborough Connects through Canada Helps gives us a chance at a $20 000 grand prize, which would help us provide more programs and services to Flamborough! Tickets are still available for the Volunteer Awards Celebration on Thursday June 15 at 7:00. Tickets can be purchased on the Flamborough Connects website, flamboroughconnects.ca, under Flamborough Volunteers – Volunteer Appreciation Awards.
