May 27 is opening day for the Waterdown Farmers’ Market! With seasonal fruits and veggies, artisan prepared foods, delectable treats and local entertainers, the Waterdown Farmers’ Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings. Head over to the Waterdown Legion, 79 Hamilton Street N, Waterdown for the best that spring has to offer. Free parking is available behind the Legion and the Farmers’ Market is located in the front parking lot.

May 31 is National Seniors Health and Fitness Day! Flamborough Connects can help with our Wheel of Fitness, free, gentle exercise classes for Flamborough adults and seniors to improve and maintain daily physical functions that promote independence and safety. Classes are offered at several locations throughout Flamborough on various days and times, so choose the one closest to you or tune in virtually. All you need is a small space, a chair for support, comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes. Contact Flamborough Connects at 905-689-7880 for more information or to register for a Wheel of Fitness class.
Do you know an amazing volunteer who is 55 years of age or older and has volunteered in Flamborough for at least three years? What about a fabulous youth volunteer who is between 12 and 25 and has volunteered in Flamborough for at least 2 years? (excluding volunteer hours required for high school graduation). Honour their volunteer achievements and nominate them for the Senior Volunteer Award and Youth Volunteer Award! Candidates must be nominated on behalf of a non-profit/charitable organization or community representative. Nomination forms are available on the Flamborough Connects website, flamboroughconnects.ca, or pick up a nomination form at the Flamborough Connects office in the Waterdown Library building. Nomination deadline is May 22, 2023, at 11:59 pm.
