Rotary Garden Court Celebrating 50th Anniversary

Did you know that Rotary Garden Court is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary? Back in 1972 the Rotary Club of Waterdown invested in land on John St. and built an apartment complex for low income seniors to live independently in affordable units. Rotary Garden Court is still going strong with many seniors living happily in their own apartment units in the heart of Waterdown! Not only does Rotary have their meeting space in the facility but Rotarians help keep the operating costs down by assisting with maintenance and repairs where possible.

Flamborough Connects’ Youth Empowerment Program is being reimagined! Youth age 12-18 are welcome to join this FREE program that will explore youth volunteerism, the culture of Flamborough, and have fun weekly activities like games, movie nights and activities. The Youth Empowerment Program welcomes youth from across all parts of Flamborough. We will be meeting in different locations around Flamborough each week, Waterdown, Carlisle, Freelton and Sheffield. Can you believe that summer is almost at an end? You’d better get to the Flamborough Connects Fundraising BBQs on Fridays at lunch time before it’s too late! Enjoy some delicious BBQ hamburgers, cheeseburgers, or hot dogs while supporting a good cause! Stop by Turkstra Lumber, 61 Hamilton St. N in Waterdown every Friday from 11:30 – 1:30. A hot dog, hamburger or veggie burger plus a drink is only $5 and all proceeds support Flamborough Connects’ free and low-cost programs for seniors, youth and families.
