Flamborough Seniors Centre (FSC) – located at the Waterdown Library building, FSC runs programs in arts & crafts, fitness and dance, cards and games and social get-togethers including presentations and meals. FSC is one of several Seniors Centres with the City of Hamilton and is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm
Residents can become members for $15 per year and then register for programs for the member rate. City-wide memberships are also available. Non-members residents and non-residents can pay a daily rate or sign up for programs at a different rate. Call 905-546-2424 Ext. 6315
Seniors Centre without Walls – a City of Hamilton program, providing free recreational activities over the phone with a group of other older adults in the community. Participants can socialize and join in on Trivia, Family Feud, Finish the Lyrics, Brain Games and Fitness Classes, all over the phone for free. Flamborough Family YMCA – located at 207 Parkside Dr., Waterdown offers a variety of programs for children, teens, adults and seniors. Programs include aquatics, fitness, dance and wellness classes, sporting activities, and camps. You can find a program online, or call 905-690-3555.
Wheel of Fitness – a volunteer-led gentle exercise program for seniors. Volunteers are trained by STEPS and can modify for various limitations. Free weekly classes run throughout Flamborough, in Waterdown, Carlisle, West Flamborough, Freelton, and Troy. Call Flamborough Connects at 905-689-7880.
Flamborough Connects’ Educational Sessions – funded through a New Horizons for Seniors Program grant, periodic sessions with guest speakers are offered on topics of interest and importance to local residents. Topics are generally more geared towards seniors, especially those living in more rural parts of Flamborough. Anyone can attend online sessions. Youth Unlimited Waterdown
Located at 273 Parkside Dr., the Youth Centre is aimed at engaging and equipping youth aged 10 to 19 to build relationships and have fun. Programs nurture the whole person – physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. The centre is open Monday to Friday 9:30am to 4:30pm.
