Youth Empowerment Program

Bringing people and resources together for 45 years.

This program is currently not running.

We are in search of youths (ages 12-18) and parents living in Flamborough who would like to express their opinions and suggestions on shaping the Youth Empowerment Program for the upcoming year (September 2023) to better meet the needs of the youth in Flamborough. If you are interested in contributing to this cause, kindly complete this survey.

The Youth Empowerment Program is an important Flamborough Connects initiative. Youth led and agency supported, this program is focused on creating a multi-dimensional hub for Flamborough youth – where they can engage with each other, build networks and share interests.

Activities are chosen by local youth and led by a core team of young people (the Leadership Team) and Flamborough Connects’ Youth Coordinator.  Activities include:

  • Youth Employment Fair
  • Youth Volunteer Fair
  • Opportunities to explore topics and activities chosen by youth: Recreation, Social, Cultural, Inclusion, Physical and Mental Wellbeing, Fun and Games
  • Opportunities to learn and implement leadership skills – and coach younger participants

Youth events are at multiple in-person locations throughout Flamborough and online.

The Leadership Team and all participants receive volunteer hours and have a ton of fun!
