Flamborough Connects » Nominate the Flamborough Senior Volunteer of the Year
Flamborough Connects is delighted to greet people in the office again and facilitate programs in person.
We also recognize that the last two years of virtual connections has helped increase our reach and bridge the gap to broader inclusivity. Moving forward, we will endeavour to ensure as many as possible of our programs, activities and events are facilitated both in person and virtually.
Nominations for the fifth annual Flamborough Senior Volunteer Award are open. All local non-profit organizations and charities are encouraged to nominate an older adult volunteer for this special community recognition.
Every year, we receive numerous highly deserving nominations recognizing community service. And, every year, the judging panel has a difficult time narrowing the field to one person.
Over 40 older adults have been nominated for this auspicious award. All nominees are recognized publicly through social media, a newspaper feature and at the annual Flamborough Volunteer Appreciation. This year’s event will be held at West Avenue Cider House on June 16 and on Zoom.
Past honorees include Carole Campbell, Pat Simpson, Garry Flood and Heinz Bondzio. All past winners have some very special things in common — they have given a lifetime of service and given their time to numerous organizations throughout this community. Nominations will be accepted until May 23. For more information, visit www.flamboroughconnects.ca/Flamborough-volunteers or email admin@flamboroughconnects.ca.
The Flamborough Connects Annual General Meeting is scheduled for April 21 at 7 p.m. in the Flamborough Seniors Centre, and the entire community is invited to join us in person or virtually.
This year, we are celebrating 45 years in the community and launching a new three-year strategic plan that will drive collaboration, deliver impact and diversify funding. We are thrilled that all levels of government will be joining us, both virtually and in person to help us celebrate and launch this important next step for Flamborough Connects.
We welcome MP Dan Muys, MPP Donna Skelly, Mayor Fred Eisenberger and Coun. Judi Partridge.
The evening will feature refreshments, door prizes and an opportunity to say hello to the board, staff, volunteers and partners of Flamborough Connects. To RSVP, call 905-689-7880 or email admin@flamboroughconnects.ca.
