Rotary Garden Court Celebrating 50th Anniversary
Did you know that Rotary Garden Court is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary? Back in 1972
Flamborough Connects » Lots to celebrate at Flamborough Connects!
Canada Day is coming fast and that means the Oh Canada Ribfest is back in Waterdown! There will be live music, a Marketplace, fireworks, and, of course, ribs and other amazing food. The Oh Canada Ribfest is taking place at Memorial Park in Waterdown from Friday June 30 – Monday July 3. What a great way to celebrate Canada Day in Flamborough! Find out more at www.ohcanadaribfest.ca.
And don’t forget, the Oh Canada Ribfest is still looking for volunteers. Do you have a few hours to spend volunteering over the long weekend? Shifts are available for Recycling, Ambassadors, Gate Control, Ticket Sales and more. Both adults and youths can volunteer. Sign up to volunteer at www.ohcanadaribfest.ca/volunteer.
There are still a few days left to participate in the Great Canadian Giving Challenge! Support your favourite Flamborough charity by donating through Canada Helps. Every dollar donated is a chance for that charity to win the $20 000 grand prize! Donate to Flamborough Connect and help support free and low-cost programs for seniors and youth at flamboroughconnects.ca/donate.
Congratulations to the winners of the Flamborough Volunteer Awards! Senior Lifetime Achievement Award – Margaret Robertson, Senior Loyalty Award – William (Bill) Hetherington, Senior Impact Award – Paula Restivo, Youth Mover and Shaker Award – Stella Duncan, Youth Compassion Award – Leo Li. You are all amazing volunteers. Flamborough is a better community because of you!
It was great seeing so many people at the Waterdown Farmers’ Market on Saturday June 10! Many thanks to the Waterdown BIA and Waterdown Farmers’ Market for providing the Community Tent for community organizations like Flamborough Connects. And thanks to everyone who stopped by to chat and say, “Hi!” We’ll see you at the Farmers’ Market again in September!
What are you doing for lunch on Fridays? Why not enjoy some BBQ hamburgers and hot dogs while supporting a good cause? Stop by Turkstra Lumber, 61 Hamilton St. N in Waterdown every Friday from 11:30 – 1:30 for a Charity BBQ! A hot dog, hamburger or veggie burger plus a drink is only $5 and all proceeds support Flamborough Connects. We’d love to cook you up a great lunch!
