Happy New Year from Flamborough Connects!
With the new year comes resolutions to get fit and stay active. Let Flamborough Connects help! Wheel of Fitness is a free fitness class for Flamborough adults and seniors to improve and maintain daily physical functions that promote independence and safety.
Flamborough Connects trains volunteers to lead classes and works with community partners who provide space and facilities. Classes are delivered in 4 locations of Flamborough, plus Virtual sessions on Zoom online:
Virtually on Zoom – Mondays, 9:30am to 10:30am.
Troy Women’s Institute – Mondays, 10am to 11am
Calvary Christian Reformed Church – Mondays, 10:30am to 11:30am
Beverly Hills Estates – Tuesdays, 10am to 11am
Freelton United Church – Thursdays, 10am to 11am
Wheel of Fitness is a drop-in program and individuals can choose the day, time and location of class that best suits their schedule. We encourage first timers to check with their doctor before registering for the program – which includes a participation waiver.
Try it online! Only a small space is needed, a chair for support, comfortable clothing and non-slip shoes. To register call 905 689 7880 or email admin@flamboroughconnects.
Thank you to all of the donors who participated in the Flamborough Connects Holiday Gift Program! We have received some amazing feedback from recipients saying how much they appreciated the gifts they received, how wonderful it was to get things from their wish list and how welcome items like slippers, clothes, blankets and gift cards were. People talked about how happy they were to receive a gift and how touched they were at the thoughtfulness and generosity that went into choosing the perfect gifts.
I wanted to pass those words of thanks on to the many generous Flamborough residents who donated gifts, money and their time to help make the Holiday Gift Program successful and to make someone’s Christmas brighter.
Hearing from Holiday Gift Program participants who were so positively impacted this festive season reinforced what a remarkable community Flamborough is. People across the many towns and rural areas that make up Flamborough willingly help strangers by donating to gift programs, food banks and money collection tins.
Because a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet.
Thank you, Flamborough, for your awesome community spirit and support
