Turkstra Lumber Friday Fundraising BBQs
Each Friday from May through September, Turkstra Lumber branches host charity BBQs in support of local organizations—and we’re proud to be one of them. Customers, employees, and neighbouring businesses have come together to support this incredible initiative for over a decade. On selected Fridays throughout the summer, the Waterdown location supports Flamborough Connects, with 100% of BBQ proceeds going directly to our programs and services. These funds help us deliver essential Community Services, Senior Services, and Volunteer Services to residents across Flamborough. We’re deeply grateful to Turkstra Lumber for their long-standing commitment to giving back and for creating a welcoming space where the community can come together in support of local causes
At a recent Friday Fundraising BBQ at Turkstra Lumber, we witnessed true community spirit as two guests, who had come to support Flamborough Connects’ fundraising efforts quietly paid it forward, covering meals for others who didn’t have enough cash to pay for their meals. Their generosity turned a simple fundraiser into a powerful reminder of how Flamborough residents support one another—one BBQ lunch at a time.
