Speaking of volunteers, Flamborough Connects is looking for 3 volunteers to sit on our Board of Directors to provide leadership and share your expertise towards the goals of our organization which has been facilitating community service programming for over 45 years. We would love to hear from Flamborough residents who have a passion for our community, especially residents from West Flamborough or those with legal expertise. The Flamborough Connects Board meets on the second Wednesday evening of each month and the approximate time commitment is 5 – 7 hours per month. The complete position description can be found on the Flamborough Connects website, flamboroughconnects.ca, under About Us – Careers.

Introducing a new volunteer opportunity from Flamborough Connects! We are launching a new Friendly Calling Program. Volunteer callers will call clients once per week for a minimum 15-minute telephone chat to provide a sense of companionship and support, social interaction and engaging conversation. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, have a current police check (Vulnerable Sector Screening) and provide 2 references. Flamborough Connects will provide training and volunteer guidelines. Check out the Friendly Calling Program page on the Flamborough Connects website (flamboroughconnects.ca) under Our Services.

Have you filed your income tax yet? If you are a low income Flamborough resident (below $35 000 for a single, $45 000 for a couple) with a simple tax situation, Flamborough Connects’ Income Tax Program can help! Our volunteer income tax preparers will prepare and electronically file your income tax return. Want to know more? Check out the Flamborough Connects website (flamboroughconnects.ca) and click on Income Tax Program under Our Services.
