Flamborough Connects » Flamborough Connects Wants to Hear from Youth
Are you a youth between the ages of 12 – 18 looking for fun things to do in Flamborough? Or are you the parent of a youth who is wondering what activities there are for teens in Flamborough? Flamborough Connects wants to hear from you! We are reimagining our Youth Empowerment Program for the fall. The Youth Empowerment Program will be focusing on volunteerism, local culture, skill building and, of course, fun things to do! The Flamborough Connects’ Youth Empowerment Program is youth led, with older youth taking part in our Leadership Team (you can earn community volunteer hours on our leadership team!) and planning activities for the group. And all youth take part in our weekly activities, which take place in Waterdown, Carlisle, Freelton or Sheffield, to allow youth from across Flamborough to access the program.
Have your say in our Youth Survey or Parent Survey. You’ll find them on the Youth Empowerment Program page of the Flamborough Connects website: flamboroughconnects.ca/our-services/youth-empowerment-program. Want to know more? Connect with our Youth Coordinator at youth@flamboroughconnects.ca or 905-689-7880.
Summer produce is at its peak and so is the Waterdown Farmers’ Market! Stop by the Waterdown Legion every Saturday from 8:00 am -1:00 pm for local farmers, local produce, and local products. Peaches are now in season, try farm fresh beans, strawberries, or a wide array of fresh vegetables and fruit. You’ll also find baked goods, prepared foods and locally made products. Plus, the Community Tent showcases different Flamborough organizations. Many thanks to the Waterdown BIA for putting on such a spectacular Farmer’s Market! Find out more at www.waterdownfarmersmarket.ca. See you Saturday!
