Flamborough Connects looking for a new Executive Director

All good things come to an end — and all endings launch new beginnings.

As many in the Flamborough community may already know, I will be retiring from my role as executive director of Flamborough Connects at the end of 2022. I can’t believe how fast the last six years have flown and how much Flamborough Connects has grown.

It has been an honour to lead an organization with such strong roots in community and get to know the people, organizations and leaders who make this wonderful area of Hamilton such a unique place. In my 22-year career in the charitable sector, I have never had such a variety of opportunities to connect, engage, give back and support.

Flamborough Connects is embarking on a new strategic path and it is the perfect time for someone with fresh ideas and experiences to lead the organization into the future.

I am extremely proud of my contribution to Flamborough Connects and the work I have done to expand communications, rebrand, develop programs, and build the collaborative relationships and teams needed to move Flamborough Connects forward.

My work has been guided by the needs of community, the organization and finding the financial and human resources required to support those most in need. The pandemic created additional challenges to face, overcome and learn from.

I am thankful to the Flamborough Connects board, particularly the chair, Donna Czukar, for excellent leadership, governance and adaptability to the evolving needs of a rapidly growing and changing community. I am also thankful to the staff and volunteers who have facilitated and led multiple programs and initiated growth in the rural areas of Flamborough, the community partners and collaborators who share the Flamborough Connects vision to bring people and resources together; and those who participate in our programs and whose lives are impacted in positive ways. Thank you.

The Flamborough Connects board is actively recruiting an executive director to implement the 2022-2025 strategic plan and beyond with a focus on three pillars: drive collaboration, deliver impact and diversify funding.

Applications will be accepted until Sept. 23. For a complete job description and the qualifications necessary to be successful in the role, visit www.flamboroughconnects.ca/about-us/careers.
