Flamborough Connects launches new website Oct. 7

Look, navigation of new site is up-to-date, says Steinbring.

One of the most important goals of Flamborough Connects is to link residents to community.

We do that in many ways. It may be as simple and low-tech as a resident dropping into the office and collecting maps for local conservation areas, or a phone call requesting the number for a Freelton business.

It is keeping our program and service information up to date on multiple information and community health network sites throughout southern Ontario, like 211 and the HPL Red Book. It is contributing columns like this to the Flamborough Review, distributing a regular newsletter and actively sharing local information on social media.

Part of our role as a local source of community information is to help spread the word for our partner non-profit organizations in the Greater Hamilton Area — and promote their work, events and opportunities. We do that through all our communication tools — including our website.

Flamborough Connects is delighted to announce that we will be launching a new website on Oct. 7. The look and navigation of the site is up-to-date and easy to follow and there are some new features to both help local organizations get noticed and Flamborough residents connect.

Even though the pandemic is still affecting our ability to get together, more things are opening and that means community events will start gearing up. One feature of our new site is a fillable event form.

If you represent a local non-profit and have an event to promote — we can help you get the word out through our community events calendar.

Need volunteers to help facilitate your upcoming event? Another new feature of our website is a fillable volunteer opportunity form. Simply enter pertinent details of the volunteer gig and we will post it to the site and share with our networks.

We know that it is going to take time to get back to normal and that many non-profits and volunteers have been sidelined through the pandemic. Flamborough Connects is ready and prepared to help as soon as the community can safely plan events that bring us all back together.
