Fill your toolbox with ideas and tactics on organizational effectiveness through our educational workshop series. In collaboration with Volunteer Halton, the Town of Halton Hills is providing a series of workshops from a selection of industry experts. The series will include a format of self-driven courses and facilitator led presentations to meet your organizational needs.
Legislation and Policy for Volunteers
In this interactive online webinar, we’ll explore the policies, procedures and legislative connections you need to have in your volunteer program, from compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) to recent changes regarding police reference checks. We’ll also discuss the changing role of COVID-19 in updating policies and procedures.

Who is Presenting
As Manager of Training, Sammy designs and oversees Volunteer Toronto’s responsive and accessible learning experiences for non-profit engagement professionals, grassroots leaders and volunteer seekers. With a strong focus on diverse educational interventions that support the changing needs in volunteerism, Sammy also develops training for aspiring and established non-profit Board Members. Sammy has been a volunteer for more than 20 years, a volunteer manager for more than 15 years, and an adult educator for 10+ years. He uses all of these experiences to help his training sessions come to life.
