The volunteer administrative assistant will support Flamborough Connects staff and activities in the office one day per week. This will include a wide range of clerical and computer tasks related to Flamborough Connects community engagement programs and fundraising activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide frontline information and referral supports – answer phones, greet clients, look up community information, research queries
  • Maintain current hardcopy information and referral resources: Ensure display areas are neat and reorder depleted resources as required
  • Support Flamborough Connects program registration and client needs and respect confidentiality
  • Help with general office correspondence
  • Support fundraising initiatives and donor follow up

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Comfortable with contemporary office software and social media platforms
  • Very good written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable with cash handling
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and take initiative
  • Familiarity with the Flamborough/Hamilton area
  • Empathetic to the needs of others and comfortable working with vulnerable populations
  • Primarily daytime schedule with occasional evening and weekend events
