This is a part-time position: minimum 24 hours over three days per week, with the possibility of added hours based on project funding. This is an ideal position for someone interested in developing a career in the non-profit sector. This position is scheduled during daytime office hours (Tues-Thurs), with the need for occasional evening and weekend flexibility. Must have own transportation. Remuneration based on experience and qualifications.


  • Provide frontline information and referral supports – answer phones, greet clients, look up community information, research queries
  • Update and manage all social media: website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc
  • Update annual Flamborough Community Guide
  • Assist with development, production and distribution of promotional materials
  • Draft and distribute quarterly e-newsletter
  • Facilitate outreach services/presentations as required throughout community
  • Maintain all contact lists (service agencies, volunteers, participants and donors)
  • Coordinate follow up and thank you correspondence with donors, supporters and volunteers


  • Coordinate recreational/social/educational events for seniors and youth as required. This includes
    arranging transportation, marketing, financial reconciliation and supervising volunteers
  • Coordinate annual community volunteer appreciation event and several fundraising activities
    throughout the year
  • Coordinate volunteers to support Flamborough Connects activities as required


  • Provide detailed monthly reports on activities and participation statistics
  • Meet with FC supervisor when required to evaluate program successes and target ongoing activity goals

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-Secondary completion and a minimum of one-year related experience
  • Experience with program and special event planning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills complemented by strong interpersonal, time-
    management and presentation skills
  • Excellent computer, social media and office technology skills
  • Ability to work as part of a small team and take initiative
  • Familiarity with the Flamborough/Hamilton area
  • Experience working with and supporting volunteers
