Services to assist people who do not drive to get around the community for shopping, social outings, and appointments.
Public Transit
Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) – Bus system for the greater Hamilton area with a Waterdown route including the Aldershot VIA Rail and GO Station.
HSR myRide – Waterdown’s on-demand bus route. This on-demand model is a “stop to stop” service that dynamically adjusts the route as customers request to be picked up and will improve the customer experience through more direct trips, quicker journeys and shorter wait times. DARTS Hamilton – a door to door shared-ride service for persons with disabilities who are unable to access regular transit service. DARTS uses wheelchair accessible buses and vans and may contract taxi services. Applications must be submitted to Accessible Transportation Services (ATS), a department of HSR.

Volunteer Driving Services
Transportation Program, Canadian Red Cross – affordable transportation services for seniors and people with disabilities who are unable to access other means of transportation to medical appointments and treatments, therapy visits and adult programs. Registration and advance booking are required. Call 1-844-843-7331
Flamborough Drives – an affordable volunteer driving program to help connect clients who live in Flamborough who do not drive to social outings or appointments (medical appointments, dental appointments, the bank, drug store, etc.). Clients must be independently mobile (walker or cane is acceptable) and must give 5 business days’ notice in advance in order to provide enough time to book a volunteer driver. Costs are based on the length of your trip and will be set prior to your drive. To register for please call 905-689-7880.
Driver Companions, Spectrum Healthcare – a volunteer driver will accompany you or your loved one for the full duration of errands to shopping centres, medical appointments, grocery stores, banks, and social outings. Call Seniors for Seniors at 1-844-422-7399
Transportation Services, VON – Volunteer and paid drivers provide seniors and adults with disabilities transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, day programs and other appointments. Call 905-529-0700 or 1-888-866-8515
Wheels of Hope (WOH) – The Canadian Cancer Society’s Wheels of Hope Transportation Program provides people living with cancer rides to and from their cancer treatment appointments. Dedicated volunteer drivers donate their time and use their own (or Society owned) vehicles to help people living with cancer get to the hospital or cancer centre. New patients who register are required to pay an annual registration fee. Patients under the age of 18 are exempt. Call 1-888-939-3333 for more information.
