Services to help individuals and families who are frail, elderly or disabled remain independent and in their own homes.

Snow Angels – a program to help low-income and disabled seniors get their walkways shoveled.  Volunteers will come after a snow fall and clear the sidewalk and a path to the door.  Call Flamborough Connects at 905-689-7880

Flamborough Shops – a service for people who can’t get out to shop on their own.  Volunteers will take your shopping order, shop for you and deliver your groceries to your home.  Call Flamborough Connects at 905-689-7880

Ontario Home and Vehicle Modification Program – of the Ministry of Community and Social Services and administered by Ontario March of Dimes.  Funds are available to eligible children and adults to make modifications that help them continue living in their home, avoid job loss and participate in their community. The Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) for our region (Hamilton Niagara Haldimand and Brant HNHB) can assess your needs for personal care and home help to remain independent.  You may be eligible to have Personal Support Workers (PSW) and others come to your home at no cost.  The LHIN also maintains HNHB HealthLine, a directory of home care and community services you can access.  Some will include fees.

Fee for Service Home Care Organizations – can help with personal care, housekeeping such as cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, some home maintenance, transportation and companionship
