Food Banks
Flamborough Food Bank – provides non-perishable items, fresh produce, dairy, eggs, meat and bread as well as personal care items. Pick up Wednesdays 1pm to 8pm at 1432 Centre Rd., Carlisle. Call to register 905-690-1036
Food with Grace Waterdown Food Bank – Pre-made bags of food are available. Pick up Tuesdays 2pm to 6pm at Grace Anglican Church, 157 Mill St., Waterdown. Call 905-689-6715 Ext. 80 or email: foodwgrace@graceanglicanchurch.org
Shopping and Delivery
Flamborough Shops – a volunteer takes your order, shops, and delivers your groceries to you every other week. *Our volunteers can also deliver orders from either Food Bank if you are unable to pick up your food. Call Flamborough Connects 905-689-7880
Meal Delivery
Meals on Wheels, Canadian Red Cross Burlington, Kilbride and Flamborough – delivers affordable, nutritious and delicious meals to people who are unable to prepare their own food. Call 905-637-5664
Frozen Meal Program, Canadian Red Cross Burlington, Kilbride and Flamborough – delivers a variety of frozen menu options. Call 905-637-5664
Heart to Home Meals – delivers over 200 frozen meal options for any meal of the day. Call 1-855-740-8080
Cooking Instruction
Bethel Community Cooking Class – free class for anyone aged 16 and over to learn to cook healthy meals, cook on a budget and cook for one. Call 905-689-7796 or contact through the website.
Grace Anglican Church Seniors Cooking Club – Cook and dine with friends at a monthly free lunch; the 2nd Thursday of each month from 11am to 1pm. Call 905-689-6715 Ext. 80 or email: office@graceanglicanwaterdown.org
Community Gardens
St. James United Church – rent a 6×8 foot plot to grow your own food if you don’t have a yard or garden. Call 905-689-6223
Bethel Community Garden – rent a 6×12 foot garden plot and bring your own seeds and tools to grow your own vegetables, flowers and herbs. Call Bethel Christian Reformed Church for information 905-689-7796
Flamborough Baptist Church Community Garden – 45 plots of 4×12 or 4×16 feet; some are table top height for people with mobility issues. Located at 41 Concession 5 East, Waterdown. Visit website to go on the waiting list for a plot or call 905-689-8476 or email office@flambc.org
