Bringing people and resources together for 45 years

One of the things I love about working at Flamborough Connects is the ability to bring the people of our community together with the services and resources they need. In fact, our slogan is “bringing people and resources together for 45 years.”

At Flamborough Connects, we do that with our Education Sessions, Flamborough Drives, Flamborough Shops, Holiday Gift Program, Income Tax Program, Information and Referral Service, Snow Angels, Wheel of Fitness and Youth Empowerment Program. The Flamborough Connects website also offers our Flamborough Volunteers opportunities and the Community Events Calendar, both of which are about to get a bit of a makeover. We want to include your community events and opportunities! Are you a not-for-profit organization with an event to promote? Email us at admin@flamboroughconnects.ca or submit it through the “Submit Your Event” button on our Community Events page. Does your organization have a volunteer opportunity? Submit it on our Flamborough Volunteers page or put it in an email to us.

A perfect opportunity to match people in our community with the resources they need comes from the Graceful Abilities Day Program. Graceful Abilities Day Program is a 2-day-a-week day program for adults with developmental disabilities in the Waterdown and Flamborough area. Running on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9:30am-4:30pm, Graceful Abilities is operated by Grace Anglican Church out of the Grace building, at 157 Mill Street North, Waterdown. The program provides participants with the opportunities and supports they need to learn and practice social, educational, and life-skill building activities, make lifelong friends, and find a place where they feel included and have a sense of belonging. Some of the skill building activities Graceful Abilities participants will engage in include music, theatre, baking, arts and crafts, meditation and mindfulness, gardening, Tai Chi, yoga, math and budgeting, reading and writing, outdoor games, neighbourhood walks, guest speakers, and weekly community outings.

To learn more about Graceful Abilities, please contact Grace Anglican Church by phone at (905) 689-6715 ex. 83 or by email at dayprogram@graceanglicanwaterdown.org.

We love meeting members of our community at the Flamborough Connects office in the Waterdown Library building! To submit an event, volunteer opportunity or learn more, visit our website, flamboroughconnects.ca.
