The following are organizations that have an immediate need for volunteers:



 Brown’s Martial Arts  Brown’s Martial Arts has a great opportunity for you to work towards (or complete) your 40 Community Involvement Hours. Each summer we offer 9 weeks of summer camps open to kids aged 5-12. These camps are filled with fitness and Karate classes, crafts, outdoor activities, field trips and more.  Rotary Clubs of Waterdown and Flamborough AM  Sign up now as a volunteer at the Waterdown Oh Canada Ribfest June 29 thru July 2 at Memorial Park in Waterdown. Adult and student volunteers needed to support this community fundraising event, sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Waterdown and Flamborough AM. Student volunteers are eligible to receive community service hours for High School through volunteering at the Ribfest, please bring your school’s form and tell your friends.  Sign up here:


Healthy Communities – Healthy Youth 


 2nd annual Flamborough Paint Challenge volunteers needed. Set up and tear down, obstacle course, mini games, ambassadors and registration help. Great fun to support Flamborough youth! Sign up here:


Local church / local charity Are you a good ipad / tablet geek that would like to help a few adults learn more about their device? We are offering a 2 hour learning session on ipads / tablets for dummies to 40 to 50 adults. We need 3 or 4 students who feel comfortable in helping 10 to 12 adults per table learn more about their device.
Saturday, June 2 only between 9:30 to 12:00 in Waterdown.

Rygiel Bingo volunteer
Major Responsibilities: This is an opportunity to contribute to the Rygiel community by volunteer for one of most profitable programs. Each Monday Rygiel administers an afternoon Bingo session at Princess Bingo. As a bingo administrator, reporting to Rygiel’s Community Resource Facilitator your role would be:

  • Count bingo cards before the game begins
  • Sell bingo cards before the game begins
  • Record game balances throughout the game
  • Balance game reports throughout the game and after the game


  • Basic math skills
  • Proficiency in computers
  • Comfortable handling money
  • Experience with financial report writing is an asset but not required
  • Customer service skills
  • Previous experiencing playing or administrating Bingo is an asset but not required

Alexander Place Seeking a volunteer to help run our Tuck Shop 1-2 days a week for approx 2 hours.

Seeking volunteers to assist staff with running programs as well as helping residents get to and from programs. Days and hours vary.

Friends of Alexander Place is seeking 2-4 board members. Their objective is to enrich the lives of residents at Alexander Place or if needed in the community. The board meets quarterly as well as runs fundraisers throughout the year. Some include an annual bazaar along with Alexander Place and raffling holiday themed baskets.

Alzheimer Society Seeking volunteer visitors – If you have strong interpersonal skills and a positive outlook on life, you’re an ideal fit for this unique volunteer opportunity! Volunteer Visitors are individually matched with a person dealing with the early stages of Alzheimer’s Disease or a related dementia. Caring volunteers offer friendship and companionship through weekly visits while enjoying a variety of activities that positively impact the lives of both the client and volunteer. Dundas Central Elementary School We are in need of adult volunteers that can give literacy and or math support to children who are struggling. Some students just need someone to read with while others require that little bit more.

Knox Presbyterian Church Volunteers needed for Community Breakfast. Second and third Saturday of each month breakfast is served 8:30am – 10:30am, 80 Mill St. N., arrive early to set up and stay until 11ish to help clean up. Help with table service, dish washing etc… It’s great experience for individuals who might want to work in food / customer service roles. George Bulmer

Red Cross Burlington as an immediate need for drivers in Flamborough to take clients to medical appointments and for the Meals on Wheels program. You decide how often you would like to volunteer and we will accommodate. 905 637 5664
