About Us

Flamborough Connects is a registered charity that provides free and low-cost Community Services and Seniors Services to residents across Flamborough. For almost 50 years, we have helped people access information, navigate community resources, and participate in programs that support healthy, connected, and independent lives.

Our Community Services help residents find the information and practical supports they need. We publish a free Community Guide and Community Events Calendar, provide Information and Referral services, deliver food bank orders in partnership with local food banks, and operate a free Income Tax Program that helps eligible residents access valuable government benefits and credits.

Our Seniors Services focus on reducing isolation and helping older adults remain active and independent. Educational sessions provide practical information on healthy aging and community resources. Wheel of Fitness offers gentle exercise classes that improve strength, balance, and confidence. Flamborough Drives provides affordable volunteer transportation for shopping and errands in a community without public transit, while programs such as Seniors Social Connections, Snow Angels, and the Holiday Gift Program help older adults build relationships, stay safe, and feel supported throughout the year.

Together, these services create a network of support that strengthens community connections and helps older adults and other vulnerable residents continue living independently in the community they call home.

Our Roots

In 1975 residents from the Town of Waterdown approached the Community Services branch of the Greater Hamilton YMCA to study Waterdown’s evolving needs. With the help of Dundas and Ancaster Information Services as well as the Central Information Services in Hamilton, Information Flamborough began. Information Flamborough’s goal was to bridge the information gap between service providers and rural residents.  Our goals are the same today!
